Paediatric Physiotherapy

Paediatric physiotherapy, is an area of physiotherapy that focuses on assessing and treating musculoskeletal, neuromuscular, and developmental conditions in infants, children, and adolescents.

At The Restore Clinic we provide paediatric services for children under school age. We utilise play-based and age-appropriate techniques to engage and motivate children during sessions with the goal address both physical limitations and make the experience enjoyable and positive for the child.

Specifically we can assist with:

  • Developmental assessment specific to age appropriate milestones. For example assess for head control, rolling, sitting, crawling, standing and walking, etc.

  • Muscle tone and strength

  • Positioning techniques to prevent or reduce plagiocephaly (flat head syndrome)

  • Newborn or infant Torticollis (abnormal positioning of the neck, often resulting in the baby's head tilting to one side and their chin turning in the opposite direction)

  • Hip dysplasia (occasionally referred to as “clicky hip”, is a condition where the hip joint does not develop properly in newborns or infants).

  • Talipes (clubfoot)
